Ontario Provincial Police in Powassan are advising people of a telephone and bank scam that's already fooled one victim.
They say an area man was called and told his banking was compromised and would only be released if he bought $9,000 worth of iTunes cards, which he did.
Police say people should never pay for any product or service with a gift card, despite threatening or intimidating language by a caller.
