In honour of International Women’s Day March 7, the Sudbury Women’s Centre is hosting its first-ever ‘Angels on the Rock’ fundraising concert.
The women’s centre is a non-profit organization located in downtown Sudbury that is dedicated to helping improve the lives of local women who have been affected by violence and/or difficult life circumstances. It receives core funding from the Ontario Ministry of the Status of Women and provides free information, referral, and support services to the women in the community.
Several local musicians will be performing, including: The Bluez Brothers, Naked Soul, Stephanie Fyfe, Angie Nussey, and Missy Dawn Duo.

There will also be food, a raffle, 50/50 draw, and a silent auction.
All the fun will begin when the doors will at 6:00 and the music starts at 7:00
With a total fundraising goal of $20,000, the centre has already raised roughly $9,000 so far.  All money donated will go towards programs and supplies for the centre.
The Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters Association recently made a donation of $1,000 towards the cause.
Officials with Sudbury Women’s Centre say on average, 150 - 200 women access the centre on a weekly basis.
