Fuel, motor oil cleanup continues on Hwy. 144 after crash near Gogama
The ministry of environment says cleanup is continuing after a crash on Highway 144 last week near Gogama resulted in the spill of motor oil and diesel fuel.
The south lane and shoulder remain closed at Mattagami Reserve Road north of Gogama, about 10 kilometres south of Mattagami First Nation Road, as a result.

A transport truck crashed on June 19 and the ministry's spills action centre was alerted, the ministry of transportation confirmed.
"The spill consisted of an unconfirmed amount of motor oil that was being transported by a tractor-trailer as well as some diesel fuel from the truck's saddle tanks," a ministry of environment spokesperson told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email Wednesday morning.
"The spilled motor oil and diesel was contained and immediately recovered by a clean-up contractor using a vacuum truck."
An environmental consultant has been hired by the trucking company to oversee the removal and disposal of the contaminated soil from the site, the ministry confirmed.
"As soon as the clean-up is complete, the consultant will provide the ministry with a remediation report that includes sampling analysis of the excavated areas," the spokesperson said.
No word on whether anyone was hurt in the crash or if any charges are pending.
CTV News contacted Ontario Provincial Police for comment and is awaiting a reply.
