Environment Canada has issued freezing rain warnings for the following communities in Northern Ontario:
- Elliot Lake
- Greater Sudbury
- Kirkland Lake – New Liskeard – Temagami
- Manitoulin Island – Blind River – Killarney
- North Bay – West Nipissing
- Sault Ste. Marie – Superior East
Periods of freezing rain are expected Monday evening and will carry over into Tuesday.
Ice buildup of 5 to 10 mm is possible, making surfaces slippery and travel difficult.
Kirkland Lake and Englehart is also expected to receive snow accumulation that will switch to ice pellets and freezing rain Tuesday morning.
