Freezing rain
Environment Canada issued freezing rain warnings early Monday from Nipigon east to Temiskaming Shores, including Wawa, Chapleau and Gogama.
Ice accretion of one to three millimetres is expected in those areas.
"Freezing rain will change to rain early this afternoon, however areas of higher terrain may see freezing rain continue through the afternoon," the weather alert said.
"Areas close to the shore of Lake Superior may see a changeover to rain later this morning."
Surfaces may be slippery as a result of the ice and road conditions can become hazardous.

More rain
Heavy rain continues in other areas of the northeast where the ground is already near saturation.
Twenty to 30 mm of rain is expected from Sault Ste. Marie east to Markstay-Warren along the Highway 17 corridor and including Manitoulin Island.
This is brought on by another low-pressure system and localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
The rain will continue through the afternoon and possibly into the evening.
