SUDBURY -- Four residents of Timmins have been charged with drug offences after their vehicle was stopped in the early morning hours in North Bay on June 16.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police's North Bay detachment were conducting a spot check in North Bay at 1:40 a.m. when they pulled a vehicle over with four people inside.
"Officers immediately began an investigation into the impairment of the driver," the OPP said in a news release Friday. "As a result of the investigation, police seized drugs suspected to be methamphetamine and cannabis.
A 30-year-old is charged with trafficking, possession of stolen property, failing to comply with a release order, obstructing a peace officer and possessing cannabis for the purpose of illegal distribution.
A 22-year-old is charged with trafficking, possession of stolen property, unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession for the purpose of illegal distribution.
A 33-year-old is charged with trafficking, possession of stolen property and possession for the purpose of illegal distribution.
Another person, also 33, is charged with trafficking and possession for the purpose of illegal distribution.
The OPP no longer releases the genders of people they charge with crimes. All accused have been held pending bail.
