Four-hour power outage planned for Copper Cliff on Oct. 11
Greater Sudbury Hydro is alerting residents and businesses in Copper Cliff about a power outage that will take place from 12:30 a.m. until 4:30 a.m. Oct. 11.
The outage will affect 1,245 customers in the area.
"This outage is necessary to perform essential maintenance activities on the energy system," the utility said in a news release Friday.
"We understand this may cause some inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain and improve the reliability of our services."
To prepare for the outage, residents should ensure computerized and electronic equipment is powered down before the interruption.
Be sure your cellphone charged beforehand and remember that garage door openers may not work during the outage.
"Landlords are encouraged to notify tenants of this planned interruption," the release said.
"Affected customers who have provided their contact information will receive an automated message by phone or email prior to the outage."
