SUDBURY -- Warren 'Woodsy' Woods, who worked at CKSO radio in Sudbury and was a TV sports reporter in Timmins in the 1970s, has died.

Woods, who was born in Sudbury contracted COVID-19 in November and passed away Wednesday afternoon. He was 66.

He began his career in 1974 hosting the overnight show at CKSO and hosted several daytime and evening broadcasts before moving to CFCL TV in Timmins as sports director in 1979.

He spent two years in Timmins before taking a TV job in Thunder Bay. He headed to Regina in 1987 where he became a popular sports personality.
