Former Sault resident wins $498K in October’s HSN 50/50 draw
Janice Patterson from Fort Erie won October's HSN 50/50 take-home jackpot of $498,942.
“I can hardly believe my luck today – it’s amazing what my $20 ticket bundle was able to do!” Patterson said in a news from HSN foundation.
“I retired and moved to Fort Erie from Sault Ste. Marie a year and a half ago to be near family so this is just an incredible opportunity to spoil my grandkids. I’m so thankful for the HSN 50/50.”
In a news release, HSN said every ticket purchased helps fund equipment for specialized surgeries and procedures, enhance care for our tiniest patients, enhance patient treatment areas, support future capital renovation projects to help build a stronger healthcare system, and fund impressive research to improve patient outcomes in the future.
“One of the key objectives of the HSN 50/50 is to make an impact on the future of healthcare for our communities. Investing in capital projects at Health Sciences North means we can build a stronger healthcare system that will support our growing needs in Northeastern Ontario,” Anthony Keating, president and chief development officer of the Foundations at Health Sciences North, said in the news release.

“Since 2020, $6.2 million of lottery revenue has been earmarked to support these projects, which will benefit our most vulnerable populations such as seniors, children, and those struggling with mental health and addictions. Having a winner in southern Ontario tells us that our goals are resonating with people across the province. We are truly thankful for the wide-spread support we’ve seen.”
