The long weekend is just about here and along with the barbeques and brush burning, comes an increased risk of forest fires
Officials say, right now, the forest fire hazard is moderate to high in the north east.
We've already had over 20 fires so far this season and there are four still active in the area, listed as being under-control or held.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry asks that you know and follow Ontario outdoor burning regulations.
You should also check local municipal bylaws before lighting a fire.
