Environment Canada says a cold front is headed to northeastern Ontario later Tuesday afternoon and early evening that could lead to a flash freeze.

Areas affected include areas near Greater Sudbury, North Bay, Gogama, Kapuskasing, Kirkland Lake and Elliot Lake.

“Flash freeze expected late today (with) icy and slippery surfaces,” the warning said.

“Temperatures are forecast to fall rapidly behind the front. Ponding water, slush, and any falling precipitation will freeze as the temperature drops. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.”
