Accused of breaching parole conditions, a wanted federal offender was apprehended in Chapleau earlier this week.

Matthew Sinobert, 42, was out on parole after being convicted in a February 2020 carjacking east of Mattawa.

"An investigation involving Superior East OPP, Sudbury parole and the OPP repeat offender parole enforcement determined that the parolee had breached his parole conditions in Chapleau, Ont.," Const. Rob Sanchioni told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.

The Sudbury parole office applied for a Canada-wide warrant Oct. 21 and he was arrested a week later around 11 a.m. Oct. 28.
