Update: 

The Friday morning crash on Highway 400 south near Lake Joseph Road in Georgian Bay Township resulted in one fatality and backed up traffic for much of the day.

Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police say the crash claimed the life of a 42-year-old woman who was a passenger. 

Police say two other passengers were airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries and the driver was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Road closure Highway south of MacTier

A note for drivers who may be heading south toward Toronto Friday, the OPP have a closure to report.

Police say it happened on the Highway 69-400 combination, just south of MacTier, where there's been a collision around 7 am.

The southbound lanes are blocked and people are detouring via Lake Joseph Road and then Highway 38 to get back on the highway south of the problem area. 

After several hours the road has been cleared and all lanes have been reopened. 

Police say to expect heavy delays in the area.
