SUDBURY -- The winter in northern Ontario is long, and the hours of darkness can make the season seem even longer.

Some outdoor enthusiasts in Sudbury say one way to beat the winter blues is to get active.

The Sudbury Honey Badgers get together every Wednesday to have some fun in the snow.

They’ve also been known to bike, ski, skate or snowshoe, all great winter activities, to help get through the cold times.

A fat bike is an off-road bicycle with oversized tires, usually at least 3.8 inches or wider. Fat bikes enable riders to cycle through soft and unstable terrain, such as snow, sand or mud.
