"It’s a great time to just spend with family, have some fun, you know maybe you need to get some energy out from the Holiday season," said senior scientist Amy Hensen.
"But as well we want to celebrate. We want to celebrate all the great things we’ve done in our year, in 2024."
During the family fun day, visitors can explore interactive science exhibits before everyone counts down to a big celebration at 5 p.m.
"With confetti cannons, lights and a dance party in our lobby so we’re very excited to always send 2024 off with a great party," Hensen said.
"And having a little bit earlier of a countdown helps with families to celebrate and ring in the New Year, as well."

"We’ve been here for 40 years but the fun never stops, and science itself never stops changing," Hensen said.
"I think that’s the most exciting part of all. So every time something new comes out in science, we hope that we’re the ones that get to help you and explore that with people in a hands-on exciting way that we’ve been doing for 40 years."
As FOR 2025, Hensen said she excited for Science North’s special exhibit launching mid-February.
