An announcement by the Wynne Liberals was made Tuesday that they are expanding the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), making prescription drugs free for more Ontarians.

The Premier says the plan will make prescription medication free for people aged 65 and over.

Under the expansion, Ontario drug benefit deductibles and co-payments will be eliminated.

The province says the plan will affect about 2.6-million people living in Ontario.

It goes into effect August 1st, 2019.
