SUDBURY -- An ongoing dispute between neighbours in Elliot Lake boiled over this week, leading to charges against a 72-year-old resident.

In a news release Tuesday, East Algoma Provincial Police said they were called just after 10:30 a.m. Monday to deal with ongoing mischief on Ste. Camillus Crescent.

Police said one person was backing out of a driveway, when a neighbour blocked the vehicle in with another vehicle.

"The neighbour then exited and commenced hitting and damaging the vehicle," police said. "There had been ongoing previous disputes and tension between the neighbours."

As a result, the 72-year-old is charged with mischief under $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Nov. 3.
