Elliot Lake man charged with arson after home doused with gas
A northern Ontario man is charged with arson and is accused of pouring gasoline on a family member's house, threatening to burn it down.
Officers were called to an incident at a home on Axmith Avenue in Elliot Lake around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 7, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.
"The complainant reported that a known family member had poured gasoline on the house and threatened to burn it down," OPP said.
"When police arrived, the person had fled on foot to a residence on Baily Lane."
The 33-year-old local man was arrested at the Baily Lane home shortly after.

He is scheduled to appear in Blind River on Nov. 7.
OPP acting Sgt. Phil Young told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca the incident is not a case of intimate partner violence.
