SUDBURY -- A 20-year-old man from Elliot Lake is facing several charges after police caught him driving through a stop sign at a three-way stop Oct. 12.

East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police officers were on patrol at 8:19 p.m. on Hillside Drive South and Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake.

"A southbound vehicle travelling on Hillside Drive failed to stop at the three-way stop intersection," police said in a news release Monday. "Police subsequently stopped the vehicle and learned the driver had no license, no insurance on the vehicle and no license plates."

The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was towed away.

He is now charged with driving without a licence, driving without a license plate, driving without insurance and failing to stop at a stop sign.

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Dec. 2.
