Elliot Lake gives locals first crack at Hockeyville tickets to exhibition NHL game
The City of Elliot Lake has released ticketing information for the upcoming NHL game – one of its prizes for winning Kraft Hockeyville 2024.
When the community was named the national winner earlier this year, Elliot Lake not only won $250,000 for arena upgrades but also the chance to host an NHL exhibition game.
Because Centennial Arena remains closed for structural reasons, the game and an earlier practice will be held at Sudbury Arena, which holds about 5,000 spectators.
According to the organizing committee, best practices were used from Kraft Hockeyville’s previous NHL games to come up with a strategy to ensure as many Elliot Lake residents can attend as possible.
The plan focuses on youth from Elliot Lake.

"All of our registered students at the schools here in Elliot Lake will be eligible for tickets for the practice," said Leigh Anne Doyle, with the City of Elliot Lake.
"A lot of the kids that are part of minor hockey, the skating club will be also eligible for game tickets, as well."

Once invited guests claim their tickets, a public drawing for residents of Elliot Lake will be held for the remaining seats.
"Unfortunately, we wouldn’t be able to accommodate everybody who resides here in Elliot Lake," Doyle said.
"Our population is a lot larger than the available seats that we would have for the game. So, unfortunately, not everybody will be able to attend."
The Sept. 29 exhibition game will feature the Ottawa Senators and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ticketing information is available on the City of Elliot Lake’s website.
