SUDBURY -- Pastor Brad Hale is headed out on a new mission outside of Sudbury next week.

This week marks his last as the director and chaplain with Elgin Street Mission downtown, where he has worked for the last three years.

He and his wife were making plans to move down to St. Catharine's upon her retirement next year, but an opportunity came up for him to work with the Salvation Army down there now.

So, they are making the move to the Niagara region and he will work as a residential supervisor.

Hale has been working with some of the city's most vulnerable in downtown since 2000 when he came back from bible college.

Hale says the move is bittersweet.

"I love this city so much. This city, they are so generous. When they know there's a need, I know that I can always count on them," said Hale.
