SAULT STE. MARIE -- For the first time in 37 years, the telethon will not be aired on television.

With concerns over COVID-19 organizers with the Sault's Easter Seals Telethon have decided to cancel the live broadcast.  

Each year, the organization hopes to raises roughly $100,000. It is the Sault's largest local fundraiser in support of children and youth with physical disabilities.

The live show was supposed to air on March 29.

The organization is still hoping people will donate and will have a limited amount of volunteers manning phones to accept donations.
