Early start to golf season in Greater Sudbury
Its starting to feel like spring in northern Ontario and golfers in Greater Sudbury are getting an early start to the season.
Golf Sudbury opened three of its five courses in Val Caron, Garson and the South End.
Tom Arnott, the company's director of business development, said the courses are in good condition for this time of year.
"We're ready, the golf courses wintered very well," Arnott said.
"There's still some frost in the ground, but we looked at the long-range forecast and the frost can easily come out. Golfers are eager and so we want to be first at the plate, so here we are, opened up April 9."
Golf Sudbury's two other courses, Timberwolf and Pine Grove, should open soon.
