SAULT STE. MARIE -- The week-long demonstration at the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie is now over.
Demonstrators have taken down a teepee that was erected last week at the main entrance to the Ontario-side of the bridge Tuesday and cleaned up the front parking lot that they occupied for the previous seven days.
The self-proclaimed land defenders say they were there to show support for the Wet’suwet’en First Nation and its battle with the federal government over a pipeline.
Organizers say they might stage another demonstration in the near future.
