SUDBURY -- Sudbury police say a cyclist has serious injuries after being hit by a car Tuesday night in the community of Hanmer.

Police say they received a call about the incident that happened between Cote Boulevard and Chenier Street just after 10:50 p.m.

A cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle travelling on Cote.

Police had the road closed overnight while the scene was being investigated and it was reopened early Wednesday morning.
