SUDBURY -- The finishing touches are being added in preparation for the CTV Lions Children’s Christmas Telethon this weekend.

The big holiday event will be televised on Saturday, Dec 7.

It’s a day filled with traditions, over 40 local artists will perform live on stage at Sudbury Secondary School, and an army of volunteers will donate their time to answer phones and take pledges.

The telethon will help over 15,000 children have a happier Christmas.

Sam Khoury is the chairperson for the annual telethon.

"So far, everything is according to schedule: the preparations, the phones, everybody, the volunteers ready to go, we are just waiting for Saturday December 7th at 2 p.m.,, that’s when we call on everyone watching us. Last year we were watched by ten different countries!" said Khoury.

The telethon runs until 11 p.m.

There are many ways to watch the live broadcast: in person at Sudbury Secondary School, on your favourite CTV TV channel, or stream online.
