The rainy weather Sunday morning couldn't dampen the spirits of those 'Cruisin' for Organ Donors in Sudbury.

Classic car owners and fans gathered to raise funds and awareness about the issue.

There were Fords, GM's, Chryslers – barbecue, and even an Elvis Presley impersonator on hand to delight the audience.

Organizers say the event was about getting organ donor cars signed to help people in need.

"There is a need, and folks come out here. I guess this is more of an inter-personal party, they can realize we're regular human beings. Let's sign our cards," said Gerry Montpellier, Sudbury City Councillor.

"We're trying to raise some funds and just bring out the awareness to everybody. We started this back in 2015 when I came back to Sudbury and got my kidney transplant, and it's been great ever since, and we're just passing on the great vibes, right through the city," said Co-Organizer Bob Johnston.

According to the Trillium Gift of Life Network, in Ontario, more than 15 hundred people are on a donor list, waiting for a transplant.
