An interactive comedy show is coming to North Bay's Capitol Centre later this month combines hypnosis and improv comedy.

Fresh from their off-Broadway tour of ‘Hyprov’ in New York, Canadian comedy legend Colin Mochrie and hypnotist Asad Mecci spoke to CTV News ahead of the performance.

"What I'm always looking for is to actually always be outside my comfort zone because that's when I'm the most fun and most engaged," said Mochrie.

"He brings up 20 people, hypnotizes them gets it down to the best five … Then (they) and I form an instant improv troop and we do an improv set of four to five games."

Mochrie and Mecci said each show is unique and the audience can expect to be entertained throughout the 90-minute show.

"Every night we find a superstar," said Mecci.

"There's someone that's really responsive to the hypnosis, and it's amazing because they keep up with Colin and at times they even scene steal. It's incredible to watch."

It's also a bit of a homecoming show when Mochrie and Mecci arrive in North Bay.

"I'm really excited to come home to northern Ontario, I grew up in Sudbury, believe it not," said Mecci.

"It's exciting to come home to a northern Ontario and perform in North Bay."

After travelling around most of the country and south of the border, Mochrie is also looking forward to the Ontario leg of the tour.

"I have friends in North Bay and Sudbury and all around the province, so it's nice to catch up with them and it's nice to bring this to places that wouldn't usually get to see this," he said.

The show comes to the Capitol Centre in North Bay on Feb. 24.
