SUDBURY -- Provincial police are investigating after a person in their 30s died in a suspected drug overdose in Cochrane on Thursday.

Just after midnight on June 11, officers with the James Bay detachment and Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services responded to a call and found a person unresponsive at a home on Sixth Avenue.

The 34-year-old is reported to have later died at the scene.

Now, the Criminal Investigation Branch, along with Ontario's coroner's office and forensic pathology service, is investigating.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Friday.
