SUDBURY -- Police in Sault Ste. Marie say they have laid charges in connection with a stabbing incident on Friday.

A 39-year-old male is facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation after one man  was sent to hospital with serious injuries.

The incident took place around 1:30 Friday afternoon on the 400 block of Queen Street East.

The 31-year-old male victim was stabbed in the arm and chest during an argument with the accused, who fled the scene.

A knife and sheath were located in the area and suspect arrested a short time later.

The accused is being held for bail court.
