Canada's national women's soccer team plays its first match of the 2019 FIFA World Cup against Cameroon Monday, June 10, 2019 at 3 pm.

Sudbury's Jenna Hellstrom, 24, made the roster and although she usually plays in the forward position, she is listed as a defender on Team Canada's World Cup lineup. Hellstrom is wearing number 23.

Team Canada is playing in the tournament's Group E in the first round against Cameroon, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. The team is ranked fifth in FIFA, soccer's international governing authority.

Canada made its first appearance at the FIFA Women's World Cup in 1995 and the farthest it has gone in the tournament is fourth place.

Christine Sinclair is making her fifth appearance on Canada's World Cup team and is the country's all-time goalscorer.
