Canada Post cancels, delays deliveries in the Greater Sudbury area

Share

Canada Post has issued today a red delivery service alert for Sudbury and a yellow alert for the Greater Sudbury region due to snow and freezing rain.

“A red alert means we are suspending delivery and not sending our delivery agents out or we are recalling them. A yellow alert means we are making every effort to deliver but there may be delays,” the mail carrier said.

“Delivery will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so. The safety of our employees is our number one priority.

An alert can be issued for a particular community or an entire province, depending on the weather event.

“We encourage customers to clear the snow and ice from their walkways, stairs, and driveways, to ensure safe access to the front door for both their visitors, as well as their mail carriers, when service resumes,” Canada Post said.

Up-to-date mail service alerts can be found on Canada Post’s alert webpage and on their social media accounts.
