A North Bay woman is brightening up her neighbourhood with hand-painted flowers on snowbanks.

Hoping to bring cheer to neighbours and people passing by, Danielle LaPorte used the big white canvas in her front yard to cheer up those awaiting spring.

But the art has also gained attention online.

In posts on social media many have commented

“Thanks for cheering up the neighbourhood during a LONG winter.”

”What an awesome and thoughtful idea.”

It has even inspired other artists to create their own.

Since the snowfall over the weekend Laporte’s flowers have been washed away, but many say they are appreciative for the brief smile it brought them.
