Local politicians were on hand at the Sudbury/Manitoulin Canadian Mental Health Association’s ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a new building in Sudbury Monday.

The new building is located at 200 Larch Street, the previous site of the Off The Street Emergency Shelter.

After construction is complete, it will house the permanent location for the shelter, as well as a harm reduction home, a third location for Sudbury District Nurse Practitioner Clinic, and other programs and services for the city’s marginalized populations.

CTV Northern Ontario's Molly Frommer will have more shortly.
