Update 2:

The family of a missing Sudbury man, has reached out to CTV News to say they believe the body found in Junction Creek Thursday afternoon is that of 25-year-old Branden Bodson-Gratton, who has been missing since December and has been the subject of several community search efforts.

He has been missing since December 3.

Police have not yet confirmed the identity.

Update:

Sudbury police say the deceased body has been removed from Junction Creek.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. 

Police say more information will be forthcoming after the post-mortem examination is complete and the next of kin has been notified.

Just after 12:05 pm Thursday, April 11, 2019, Sudbury police received a call from a community member regarding what was believed to be a body in Junction Creek off of Riverside Drive in Greater Sudbury.

Officers attended the area and confirmed that there is deceased human body at that location.

Due to the fact that the body is almost completely submerged in water, the identity and gender of the person cannot be confirmed at this time.

Uniform officers and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Unit are on scene.

Officers and Investigators are currently holding the scene and are unable to remove the body until the Coroner arrives.

An update will be provided when more information is available.

Police ask that people avoid the area as this is an active scene and ongoing investigation.
