There were some frightening moments for a Sault Ste. Marie woman on Friday night.
Police say on Friday around 11 pm, the woman was out with her dog along Old Goulais Bay Road, north of the city, when she was attacked by a bear.
Officers say the animal was in the area with her cubs.
The woman suffered several puncture wounds to her back and cuts to her head.
She was taken to Sault Area Hospital and treated for what police say were non-life threatening injuries.
