Man facing more than a dozen charges after numerous drugs, weapons seized

A man is facing numerous drug trafficking and firearm possession charges after weaponry and thousands of dollars of illicit drugs were seized in Georgian Bay Township on Wednesday.

According to Orillia OPP, the detachment’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began investigating an individual in November, who was allegedly trafficking drugs and in possession of a firearm.

Police say investigators were satisfied with the information they gathered, and a search warrant was executed at a Yonge Street address in MacTier on Wednesday. Collingwood CSCU and the Orillia Community Mobilization Unit were also reportedly involved in the execution of the search warrant.

Police say the seized items included a loaded Glock 19x handgun, ammunition, three crossbows and bolts, 624 grams of cocaine, 220 grams of cannabis marijuana, 32 tabs of LSD, $6,250 in Canadian currency and a money counter.

The arrested individual was charged with 15 offences related to firearm possession, possession of cocaine and LSD for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of illicit cannabis for the purpose of selling, and trafficking in a schedule 1 substance.
