B.C. driver caught speeding in northwestern Ont. to start the weekend, police say
A driver from British Columbia was travelling more than 50km/h over the speed limit on Highway 11/17 in Nipigon, Ont., police say.
“Looking to catch the attention of the Nipigon OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) during the Civic long weekend,” asked provincial police on social media.
“Just try doing 144 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.”
In an email to CTV News, OPP communications officer Autumn Eadie said that at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 2, members of the Nipigon detachment initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
