SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police say another uniformed member in the North East region has tested positive for COVID-19.

The officer reportedly works at the West Parry Sound detachment and did not experience symptoms while working. Their name is being withheld to respect their privacy.

As per public health guidelines, the person is in isolation and following recommended protocols.

OPP officials say they were made aware of the diagnosis on April 10.

Sergeant Carlo Berardi says there are now seven OPP members that have tested positive for COVID-19. This includes the officer from West Nipissing  previously reported as presumptive last month.
