Albertan commercial driver charged with stunt driving on northern Ont. highway
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in northern Ontario say they charged the driver of a commercial motor vehicle with stunt driving late last month.
The incident occurred when members of the James Bay OPP “clocked” a commercial motor vehicle travelling 104km/h on Highway 11 through the Town of Mattice – a 60km/h zone – during the early morning hours of Aug. 27.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the tractor-trailer.
“The 21-year-old driver from Edmonton was charged for stunt driving,” said police in a social media post.
“The tractor was impounded for 14 days, and the driver’s licence suspended for 30 days.”

None of the allegations has been proven in court.
Early this year, a survey released by the Canadian Automobile Association showed that 9 in 10 people are deeply concerned about speeders close to home.
“Remember, with speed limits less than 80 km/h, stunt driving is going 40 km/h or more over the limit,” said police.
“Slow down.”
