North Bay police say officers are conducting an active investigation at a local motel Wednesday morning.

Police have an area of the Dolphin Motel & Cottages on Lakeshore Drive cordoned off with yellow tape.

No details about what they are looking for or the nature of the investigation were provided when CTV News reached out to police.

"We have no reason to believe there is a threat to public safety at this time," police spokesperson David Woolley told CTV News.
