A spooktacular time awaits trick-or-treaters at a haunted house in Timmins
The haunted Brimstone Mansion in Timmins is ready to welcome guests.
Since Sept. 1, Ron Lepine of Chestnut Lane (behind East Side Mario’s) has been working on a spooky masterpiece that takes up his entire front and back yards.

"My brother-in-law and sister-in-law literally move into my house for two months to help do this," said Lepine.
"We have my nephew, Guy, he supplied all the buildings. All I had to do is buy the tarps ... He's been working constantly."
Lepine’s granddaughter pitched the idea to her grandfather in 2016 and he has kept his promise ever since.
"She said, 'Pepe, if you make a haunted house, I'll love you forever.' And then the year after, my wife got diagnosed with cancer, and I found out that Halloween is her best thing. So the deal was, you stay alive, I do Halloween," said Lepine.
"So we've been beating the odds."
Lepine has put thousands of dollars into the endeavour and local businesses like R&S Vision Centre has sponsored the snack shack that offers up sweet treats to the trick-or-treaters.
Lepine figures it takes around 1,000 hours to put everything up and take it all down.

"We do it because it's such a great thing for the community," said Lepine’s sister-in-law, Louise Saumur.
"We receive more than we give out."
The Brimstone Mansion is open from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. until Halloween. The entry fee is a donation to the Timmins Food Bank. Last year, around 3,000 pounds of food was collected, along with around $2,800.
