Update:

SUDBURY -- 33-year-old Kairo Chilton made a brief court appearance in Sudbury Tuesday morning in connection to a deceased male found inside a home Monday night.

Chilton waived the reading of the charge in court, but her lawyer, Robert Beckett, confirms to CTV News that she stands charged of second-degree murder.

The case has been put over to Nov. 28.

Chilton's lawyer says they are awaiting disclosure and may seek bail, but that determination has not been made.

SUDBURY -- Sudbury police say a 33-year-old woman has been arrested for murder Monday night. 

Police say they were called to a home on Melvin Street, in Sudbury's Donovan neighbourhood, to check on the well-being of the residents.

Officials say when officers arrived, they found a deceased male inside.

Police believe he was murdered.

Few details have been made public, but investigators confirm the other occupant of the residence, a 33-year-old woman, was taken into custody and charged with murder. 

The victim's identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification. 

An investigation will continue.

Police say the two people were known to each other and there is no threat to public safety.
