North Bay police arrest 53 people on outstanding warrants

A recent initiative by the North Bay Police Service resulted in the arrest of 53 people on outstanding arrest warrants.
“Throughout the month of June 2024, (police) conducted an enhanced enforcement campaign, targeting outstanding arrest warrants for a variety of criminal offences,” police said in a news release this week.
The suspects arrested in the initiative were wanted on a combined total of 127 charges.
“The majority of charges related to failures to comply with release orders, undertakings, or probation and failures to appear in court,” police said.
Other charges include arson, assault, break and enter, possession of a controlled substance and theft of a motor vehicle.

“Thanks to the diligent work of our offices, these individuals who were evading arrest are now being held accountable,” said Jeff Warner, inspector of operations, said in the release.
“Our efforts to locate offenders does not stop with this targeted enforcement initiative. Our officers will continue to track down those who attempt to avoid the consequences of their criminal acts.”
