Ontario Provincial Police in North Bay are looking to speak witnesses to a hit and run that happened Monday night.

Police say they responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at approximately 8:45 pm, March 25 on Highway 17, east of Highway 17B, in North Bay.  

The 33-year-old pedestrian is a woman from Nipissing First Nation. She suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.  

Police say the vehicle involved left the scene, but located it a short time later.

Now, a 17-year-old female from West Nipissing is being charged with a failure to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm.  She was released and will be in court in North Bay on May 8.

Police closed off Highway 17 between Gormanville Rd. and Highway 17B for several hours to conduct an investigation overnight.  

OPP is looking for anyone who was travelling on Highway 17 between Gormanville Road and Highway 17B between 8:30 pm and 8:50 pm who may have seen the crash or pedestrians.
