A plaque on the bell reads '1894-1951,' and was relocated to the elementary school in 1999 when Massey Public School closed.

"The bell has historical significance to the school and the community," Charette said.

"We would like the bell returned to its rightful place to be preserved for generations to come."

Anyone with information about the missing bell is encouraged to contact the OPP.
