Raymond Cua is known as "The Travelling Foodie" and his first taste of the Pine Dairy Bar drew some high praise.

"The ice cream is really amazing," Cua said.

Cua left his job as an I.T. worker in Toronto to follow his gut and his dream; now, he has over 30,000 followers on Instagram and he’s spending the next week sampling all that Timmins has to offer.

"I found a list and Timmins was in one of those lists and when I looked at it, it was very interesting," Cua said.

Cua said he's always wanted to travel north, so he reached out to Tourism Timmins to figure out where to start, and he ended up with a full itinerary.

"There's 'glamping' in store, there's the trip to Archie's Rock, there's also a fly in fishing trip," said Guy Lamarche, Timmins Tourism manager

His trip will wrap up with the Great Canadian Kayak Festival, but for now, it's an ice cream sundae from Pine Dairy Bar.

"We made basically a Piña colada ice cream with coconut ice cream and served it in pineapple fruit," said Dany Pelletier, Pine Dairy Bar.

Cua said he loved the 50's charm of the Pine Dairy Bar and is looking forward to more of the unexpected.

"I'm actually surprised at something as simple as like pizza and ice cream. It's amazing," Cua said.

Cua said he's looking forward to more surprises as he further acquaints himself with the sights, the sounds and the tastes of Northern Ontario over the next week.
