A major funding announcement for the City of North Bay was made Monday. The province will provide 1.2 million dollars towards the Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
This new 10 bed end of life facility will be built on property near Chippewa Creek, East of John Street.
Funding for annual operating expenses of six hundred thousand dollars will also be paid by the province.
Hospice chair, Mathilde Gravelle-Bazinet, says the facility will be able to receive patients by December 2018.
