Police officials are searching for an Algoma Mills hunter who was reported missing on Saturday evening.

Wesley Beckett was reported overdue at around 9 p.m. He was supposed to be back from hunting in the Chapleau area at that point.

Police searched local backroads overnight and were unable to find the 79-year-old.

“Currently, Superior East OPP members are continuing search efforts,” reads a media release, issued by the Ontario Provincial Police on Sunday.

“He is described as 5'10", 180 lbs, fair complexion with white hair. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid t-shirt, black work pants and brown boots. Mr. Beckett was driving a red 2012 Chevrolet Silverado bearing Ontario licence plate AM31757.”
