The search for a swimmer missing since the weekend continues.
Police believe Arthur Lavoie was carried away by a strong current on Saturday. It happened in the Ottawa River near Mattawa.
On Friday, the Ontario Provincial Police said search efforts for the 40-year-old Mattawa man are continuing.
The marine unit is still on scene. An unmanned aerial system and helicopter are assisting with the search.
"The area where the male entered the water is described as having a very strong current, varying depths and not suitable for swimming," reads a statement from police.
"The area being searched posed many challenges to the search team due to treacherous conditions in the water."
The OPP said Lavoie was last seen wearing red shorts, a red t-shirt and a red bandana.
Police are asking if anyone observes clothing matching the description above floating in the river or on the riverbanks to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
